Chumpologica

The Chumpologica is an RSS aggregator that helps build a website by polling a number of RSS sources and aggregating them into a single feed. It is currently in use on Planet RDF and the Daily Chump Chumpologica. It was written by Matt Biddulph with important contributions from Dave Beckett.

Here's the README, and here's Chumpologica release 1.0. The code requires python 2.3 with XML libraries, HTML tidy and the python wrapper for Redland.

I originally wrote about the code back in June 2003 when we launched the Daily Chump chumpologica. When we used the code as the basis for Planet RDF, Edd Dumbill made this announcement.

If you find this system useful in making a website of your own, we'd love to hear about it at chaps@planetrdf.com. If you want to discuss the system, please email me at matt@hackdiary.com.
